WEEK ONE PREP:  FOR MEETINGS 3/30 - 4/3

PARTICIPANT GUIDE - Click on the image to the right to download and print this guide.  You'll will use it in our Zoom meetings for the week of March 30.

ASSESSMENT - Click on the image to the right to download the Communication Assessment.  This includes a Self Assessment for you to complete and a Communication Feedback Form for you to hand out to people to rate your communication.

VIDEO - Here are two videos:   "Presentation Skills for Meetings" and "Why People Believe They Can't Draw".  The first is my welcome message to you.  The second, with Graham Shaw is fun and instructional.  Watch Graham's twice.  The first time on your own or with your family an be sure to have a piece of paper and a pen.  The second time, listen for and take notes on the speaker's introduction, his storytelling, how he engages his audience, and how he closes. Consider his final question regarding your beliefs and their impact on you becoming a better communicator.  Bring your drawings to your first Zoom meeting.

WEEK TWO PREP: FOR MEETINGS APRIL 6 - 10

VIDEO - Here are two videos: "The Power of Story Telling in Business" by Dave Lieber and "Is Your Voice Ruining Your Life?" by Roger Love.  Dave shows his ability to use humor and teach a solid story telling process.  Roger, also humorous, teaches breathing techniques and how to "climb the stairs" and "stay off the landing" to be more persuasive.  Take notes, think of  stories you can tell and how you can make your voice an asset.  Plus, pay attention to their intros and closes, body language, pacing and how they engage their audience.

Here's three videos with a variety of insights and practical suggestions on practice and rehearsal.  In one you'll hear - Unrehearsed is Unreliable.  In another you'll learn about practicing with your computer.  And in one you'll be asked a great question about the time you invest in developing vs. practicing your presentation.
